PLATTE TRIBUNE

In traveling about the state a person frequently hears mention of the good roads proposition and this fall we have heard a good deal about the road that runs through the county as laid out by Colonel Thatcher. Some people seem to think that there is more behind the road than people seem to realize and that there is a reason for him insisting upon a wide road bed. We have even heard it mentioned that the government was behind the proposition and that they intended to fix the road up for a military road over which heavy artillery might easily be transported by auto. Others claim that the day will come when the road will be used for electric railway cars, the current to run same to be obtained from dams put in the Missouri river. Well, we don't pretend to know who is back of the proposition, but we are glad to see good roads just the same.
