The contract for grading the road east of this city, around by the government house and farther east, was let at a meeting of the board of county commissioners the first of this month to the Haney Grading outfit, and work was started on same Wednesday. This road has been a poor one for some time and it is to be hoped will be put in first-class shape and extended on east past the lake. Recently the commissioners purchased a road bed from Thos. Hunter and with this fixed up we should have a might good road to down from the east. Here's hoping. Lord knows we need it.
